Nurturing the Next Generation in Faith and Love

Building a Strong Spiritual Foundation for Our Children

Contact us

Welcome to the Kids Ministry!

At the House of God Church, our Kids Ministry is dedicated to guiding children on a journey of faith, teaching them about God's love, and helping them build a strong biblical foundation. We believe that every child is a precious gift from God, and it is our mission to nurture their spiritual growth through engaging lessons, worship, and community.

Our Purpose is to proclaim who God is and what He's done- to the next generation.

"We will not hide them from their children, we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, His power and the wonders He has done."

Ps. 78:4

Our vision is to instill a firm knowledge of God's Word, communicate the Gospel in both word and deed, and encourage children to embrace Christ through worship and service. We aim to support parents in the Christian upbringing of their children.

Programs and Activities

Sunday School

Age-appropriate Bible lessons, worship, and activities for children ages 2 to 12.

Special Events

Holiday celebrations, community service projects, and more, designed to make faith fun and engaging.

Youth Fellowship

Interactive sessions for young teens to explore their faith and develop a personal relationship with God.

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

A week-long summer program filled with Bible stories, games, crafts, and music.

Parent Involvement

Great stories have a personality. Consider telling a great story that provides personality. Writing a story with personality for potential clients will assist with making a relationship connection. This shows up in small quirks like word choices or phrases. Write from your point of view, not from someone else's experience.

Great stories are for everyone even when only written for just one person. If you try to write with a wide, general audience in mind, your story will sound fake and lack emotion. No one will be interested. Write for one person. If it’s genuine for the one, it’s genuine for the rest.

Children Enrolment Form

Teachers & Volunteers Responsibilities

BE PREPARED

Know your material well. Know your format in advance. (i.e. what you're doing first, second, third . . . and approximately how long each activity should take.) Have your supplies and copies made before class.

ARRIVE EARLY

Be in your class at least 20 minutes prior to service to prepare classroom and receive early arrivals.

LEAVE YOUR CLASSROOM CLEAN

Chairs pushed in, use carpet sweeper if necessary, throw away extra papers. Erase white-boards, each desk if necessary. (Tip: Have the children help, they need to be taught accountability too! And they love to help the teacher!)

FIND A SUBSTITUTE

Contact the Children's Ministry Coordinator as soon as possible if you are unable to teach due to sickness, personal commitment, etc. He will give you a list of current substitutes to take your class. But it is your responsibility to call them and make arrangements. You need to inform your substitute what you're teaching on and then RE-CONTACT AND CONFIRM with the Children's Ministry Coordinator.

ATTEND REQUIRED TEACHER MEETINGS

3 to 4 times a year we have teacher meetings where we'll fellowship, share and learn from each other. It is so enlightening to learn what other teachers are doing in their classes. You will learn from them and they from you! We also introduce new materials, clear up any confusion over policies, give teaching tips and suggestions.

KNOW YOUR AGE GROUP

This is so important! Study your kids. Learn and know what their characteristics are. Each age group is a world unto itself, and HOW you teach a first-grader will be very different than a sixth-grader. They have entirely different comprehensive capabilities as well as emotional/spiritual maturities, which will determine the best teaching approach!

STAY HUMBLE & TEACHABLE

Never allow yourself to become lulled into a false sense of self-confidence. It is not you teaching, it is the Holy Spirit. Your talents, ideas and very words are from the Lord. If they aren't, you probably won't be teaching long! Remember, we are to always give glory to the Lord. And that should be our motive in teaching, not to show how good, smart OR talented we are; not to just fill a vacant teaching spot, but to bring glory to the Name of the Lord!

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities
